HealthcareSource Talent Symposium Highlights Client Success, Innovation and Product Advancements
Annual user conference delivers exclusive content, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, product training and education
Woburn, MA – November 15, 2016 – HealthcareSource®, the leading provider of talent management solutions for healthcare, hosted its annual user conference November 6-9 at the JW Marriott in Washington D.C. Talent Symposium, attended by more than 300 healthcare human resources, learning, and organizational development professionals, featured four days of education, product updates, and networking events.
The conference featured general session presentations by HealthcareSource president and chief executive officer J.P. Fingado and vice president of product management Russ Wakelin on the state of the healthcare industry and the latest innovations in the HealthcareSource Quality Talent Suite℠. Award-winning author and speaker Kathy Dempsey delivered a high-energy presentation covering practical strategies for developing effective communication to manage and adapt to change – a topic that resonated strongly with attendees.
Fingado’s speech summarized key demographic and market shifts in the healthcare talent landscape and the related impacts on recruiting, performance, compensation, and learning teams. Fingado also highlighted the need to solve current and future talent challenges via an integrated healthcare talent strategy to drive improved quality metrics in healthcare organizations. Additionally, Fingado shared news of a new recruitment marketing partnership which will complement and extend the already strong talent acquisition capabilities HealthcareSource offers to help clients build a Patient-Centered Workforce™.
In a demonstration that modeled the entire employment lifecycle for employees and managers, Wakelin reviewed dozens of new features now available in the Quality Talent Suite including:
- Apply with Indeed integration for HealthcareSource Position Manager® 11
- User interface redesign and workflow improvements for HealthcareSource NetLearning®
- HealthcareSource Recruiting Benchmarks, a new offering that enables clients to benchmark their recruiting function via a self-service, cloud-based solution
- User interface update to HealthcareSource Performance Manager® task list
- New online course catalog for the HealthcareSource eLearning Library℠
- HealthcareSource Staff Assessment℠ and Leadership Assessment℠ integrations with Performance Manager and the eLearning Library
- Performance Vitals, a new feature that provides a comprehensive talent snapshot of each employee
The conference featured dozens of client presentations by human resource, performance, and learning leaders from Berkshire Health Systems, Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, Kennedy Health, Mary Washington Healthcare, University of Pennsylvania Health System, White Plains Hospital, and many more.
Morgan Pluckebaum, MSM, Human Resource Consultant at IU Health North Central Region, Daniel Blandford, Employment Supervisor at Owensboro Health, and Tracy Braman, Executive Human Resource Director at Lakeland Health were recognized as Talent-in-Talent award winners, each delivering a presentation on the keynote stage addressing critical talent management challenges they have faced in their roles, and discussing how HealthcareSource solutions have supported their talent management objectives.
All of the practitioner-delivered sessions gave clients an opportunity to showcase best practices in healthcare talent management, as well as highlight their successes and share their accomplishments with their peers.
“We send staff to Talent Symposium every year because it’s the best opportunity to meet with the extended HealthcareSource team we’ve built relationships with over time, as well as to network with other clients facing similar talent management challenges,” said Amanda Morris, employment director at Samaritan Health Services in Corvallis, OR. “We recently completed a major Position Manager® migration project, so attending the conference gives us the opportunity to meet face to face to review how the project went, discuss strategy for next year, and celebrate our success.”
“Attending Talent Symposium is critical to the continued success of our relationship with HealthcareSource,” said Sarah Peterman, talent and learning management systems administrator at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY. “Meeting with the executive team and key staff, as well as spending time with other HealthcareSource clients, meeting partners in the expo, and attending sessions delivered by HealthcareSource clients and staff all maximize the value we get from the Quality Talent Suite.”
Attendees participated in hands-on training sessions, earned continuing education credits toward HRCI, SHRM-CP/SHRM-CSP, and CHHR accreditations, participated in roundtable discussions and focus groups, and explored the partner exhibition to learn more about complementary talent management solutions and services from industry partners American Heart Association, AppCast, the American Society for Health Care Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA), Certiphi Screening, experiencedRN, Fusion Marketing Group, Glassdoor, GE Healthcare, HCPro, Indeed, Katon Direct, Kronos, the National Association for Health Care Recruiters (NAHCR), NAS Recruitment Innovation, Skillsoft, Wolters Kluwer-Lippincott, and Universal Background Screening, who also co-sponsored the client appreciation event at the National Museum of American History.
“It’s always rewarding to engage with HealthcareSource clients and highlight their success and accomplishments,” said J.P. Fingado, president and chief executive officer at HealthcareSource. “This year’s conference featured an extremely high level of strategic planning, interaction, and collaboration among cross-functional attendees in recruiting, human resources, learning, performance, and organizational development. We are seeing a strong interest in a unified talent management suite for healthcare which directly tracks with our recent and planned focus to build out our talent management platform.”
