HealthcareSource Names Talent-in-Talent Award Winners 2017
Recognizes Excellence in Healthcare Talent Management, Education
Woburn, MA – December 6, 2017 – HealthcareSource®, the leading provider of talent management solutions for the healthcare industry, today announced the recipients of its seventh annual Talent-in-Talent™ award. The HealthcareSource Talent-in-Talent Award recognizes talent management and organizational development professionals who demonstrate the highest level of innovation, proficiency, and competency in healthcare talent management and education.
Individuals and organizations are nominated for the award based on their commitment to professional development and excellence in one of three categories: recruitment, performance, and education.“Recruiting, retaining, and developing talent in healthcare requires a unique skillset — one that not only ensures that the diverse staffing needs of the organization are met, but also that the entire workforce is focused on providing the highest level of patient-centered care,” said David Wilkins, Chief Marketing Officer, HealthcareSource. “As members of the selection committee, we evaluated many nominations and are confident that these winners represent the best of the best. We are proud to honor these outstanding performers.”
Recipients of the 2017 HealthcareSource Talent-in-Talent Award:
- Recruitment: Kena Adelekan, Regional Recruiter, Talent Acquisition, Adventist Health System
Adelekan has created training videos to assist new recruiters, filled over 300 requisitions, received rave reviews from both managers and candidates regarding her customer service and knowledge, and trained managers and new hires on the organization’s shared service model. She is a subject matter expert and the recruiter often requested by hiring managers. Adelekan obtained her Master's in Leadership with an HR concentration and completed The Recruiter Academy℠ by Lean Human Capital certification.
- Performance: Houston Methodist Health System
Houston Methodist is comprised of eight hospitals, 2,165 operating beds and 22,050 employees who handle approximately 104,000 admissions and 811,000 outpatient visits each year. The organization has always enjoyed high employee engagement compared to the national average, routinely reaching engagement scores as high as the 99th percentile. But when that score began to drop as their workforce grew, they used HealthcareSource Staff Assessment℠ to help the organization hire for cultural fit and reduce turnover. This resulted in greater consistency in the hiring process, increased retention, and higher engagement scores.
- Education: Jan Wright, Staff Development & Training Coordinator, Great Plains Health
Wright is a 22-year employee at Great Plains Health and has a reputation among colleagues for always going above and beyond and ensuring staff members remain focused on patients. She is a leader in creating efficiencies and ensuring that all stakeholders feel their input is valued. By implementing new processes in the organization’s HealthcareSource NetLearning system, Great Plains Health has been able to maintain a turnover rate in many entry-level positions while significantly decreasing the time-to-fill for many administrative roles.
The HealthcareSource Talent-in-Talent recipients were honored at Talent Symposium 2017, an annual learning and networking event for healthcare HR, talent management, L&D, and education professionals.
