- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Experience is preferred Job Summary: Prepares pap smear specimens for reading by Cytotechnologists and Pathologists. Enters specimens into computer system with clinical and insurance information. Files microscopic slides and maintains slide files in storage room. Does changing and filtering of staining solutions. May prepare non-gynecologic specimens. Job Requirements: Requires high school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of laboratory or medical terminology or coursework in biology is desired. Ability to communicate, cooperate and work well with coworkers. Must possess above average ability to concentrate on detailed work and show inquisitive nature to question irregular orders or procedures. VERY FAST PACED, BUSY LAB ENVIRONMENT. MUST POSSES EXTREMELY EXCELLENT ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO STAY ON-TASK. HANDLES BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS.
