  • The hours for this role are Tuesday-Friday 2030 to 0700


    The Registered Diagnostic Sonographer performs ultrasound procedures, including but not limited to abdominal, small parts, pelvic, vascular, neuro and pediatric-specific exams.


    Job Responsibilities:

    ·         Perform high-quality ultrasound imaging exams.

    ·         Perform studies independently in the imaging department, operating room, and or portable exams as required.

    ·         Maintains equipment and supplies.

    ·         Ensure proper documentation of procedures.

    ·         Collaborates with Radiologist and medical staff for diagnosis.

    ·         Maintain current knowledge, continued education and skills to provide appropriate care for the following groups: newborn, pediatric and young adults.

    ·         Exercise professional judgment in the performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics.

    ·         Applies age-appropriate care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

    ·         Adheres to image specific policies related to quality and safety which are established by The Children's Mercy Hospital and regulatory and accreditation governing bodies.


    Required Skills:

    ·         Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited ultrasound program and registered in good standing with the ARDMS. 

    ·         ARDMS certification in Abdomen and Pediatric, or willing to complete registry within 12 months of employment.

    ·         One to two years' experience.

    ·         BLS certification.
