Summary
The Cook is responsible for the preparation, serving, clean up and storage of food.
Qualifications
Required: Must be able to read, write and speak English, on the job training.
Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent. Advanced training and/or experience in quantity food service production. Technical degree in Institutional Food Preparation or related degree. Accredited course in therapeutic diets and nutrition.
Working Conditions
Primarily that of Cook, but understands or is capable of performing the Dietary Assistant position. Daily activities of the Cook usually require lifting of less than 25 pounds, but may require occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, repeated bending and being on their feet throughout the majority of the shift. Works in a potentially warm and humid environment. Must be able to immerse hands in water and detergents without restrictions.
