GENERAL SUMMARY

This laboratory primarily conducts research to examine blood vessel growth in normal and disease states using tissue culture cells and mice as model systems. The applicant must possess an exceptional work ethic and desire to learn new research techniques. A successful candidate will be able to perform technical work in support of on-going research projects. Participate in data collection and documentation, develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures. The duties include, but are not limited to, performing complex experimental procedures, to include molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques; designing/executing experiments; assisting in the interpretation of results; supervising/participating in preparation/organization of supplies/reagents; ordering supplies; maintaining laboratory; recording/analyzing research results.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

1. Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Biotechnology or a relevant field of science from an accredited college.
2. Six months to two years of relevant laboratory experience.
3. Coursework in anatomy, physiology, statistics, relevant research methods and radiation desirable.
