- Job Summary: Performs as a Registered Nurse Midwife who, by virtue of her added knowledge and skills gained through an organized program of study and clinical experience, has extended the limits of his/her practice into the area of management of primary health for women and newborns within a Health Care System providing consultation, collaboration and/or referral. Educational Requirements: CPR certification every two years. NRP certification every two years. Fetal monitoring competency validation yearly. Yearly Proficiency in Provider performed microscopy. Graduate of an ACNM accredited Nurse-Midwifery educational program. BSN or equivalent preferred. Current Florida State License to practice as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the category of Nurse-Midwife. Experience Requirements: 0 to one year. Previous nursing experience in labor and delivery required.
