- COHN or COHN-S preferred, ED/Urgent Care experience preferred. BSN preferred. Be able to perform or treat the following, Hearing, BAT, Vision, Spirometry, splints, sutures, sprains, infections.
The essential responsibilities of the Staff RN include but are not limited to: Delivers patient care as identified by the Scope of Care of the Patient Care Unit Effective communication demonstrates Caring, Compassion, and Cultural awareness. Provide quality care using the nursing process and critical thinking skills Able to function under stress and emergency situations. Promotes effective communications between patients, staff, physicians and visitors. Promotes communication between injured workers, employers and case managers. Provides knowledge of Occupational injuries and illnesses and facilitates early return to work. Performs surveillance exams: hearing tests, vision screening, spirometry, EKGs. Performs breath alcohol testing and urine drug screening. Proficient in vaccine administration and phlebotomy. Ensures accurate documentation. Ensures adequate supplies and is knowledgeable in operation of equipment. Ensures current credentials and /or certifications. Maintains compliance with hospital procedural standards. Supports and promotes JMC mission and vision Personally contributes to the team environment by demonstrating cooperative, constructive, problem-solving interaction with JMC Performs other departmental duties as assigned.
