VCU Health System's Pastoral Care is seeking a full time Chaplain (FCC) Evening Shift Leader/Attending to provide professional emotional and spiritual care to patients, families, and staff. Function as a member of the interdisciplinary care team for Organ Donation cases and provide for complete coverage of the house when not in the FCC role.
Responds to calls that request chaplaincy services.
Provides bereavement care and support to families.
Supports staff following bereavement event.
May participate in research and grant writing.
Consults with Department Director or other clinical faculty member in complex patient care situations as needed.
Master of Divinity or equivalent. Four units of clinical pastoral education (certified by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. (ACPE), the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) or The Canadian Association for Spiritual Care/Association Canadienne des Soins Spirituels (CASC/ACSS).
Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) board certification, provisional board certification, or board eligible.
One (1) year post-Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) chaplaincy experience (which may include second and/or third year residency).
APC Board Certified Chaplain. If not BCC, must achieve APC Board Certification (BCC) or Provisional Certification within 24 months of employment
Experience as a Chaplain in an academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center
