VCU Health System's Worker's Compensation Department is seeking a full-time Injury Prevention Specialist.
Responsible for providing job conditioning through stretching, exercise, and job coaching – individualized or done as a unit – in order to demonstrate and change behaviors toward using proper body mechanics.
Responsible for assisting staff with environmental changes to include proper workstation ergonomics.
Bachelor's Degree in health-related field from an accredited program
Minimum of two (2) years of previous experience in industrial injury prevention or related field
Current CPR and AED certification
Certified in First Aid
Current certification, or ability to obtain such a certification within a designated timeframe, in a health related field, including but not limited to: Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Physical Therapist (PT), Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), Occupational Therapist (OT), Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) , American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP), American Society of Exercise Physiologists (ASEP), National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer (NASM-CPT) or National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer (NCSA-CPT).
Master's Degree in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Kinesiology, or related field
Minimum one to three years of industrial healthcare or healthcare experience
Knowledge/experience in local occupational healthcare, the industrial environment and working Knowledge of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy preferred
