VCU Health System's Performance Improvement is seeking a full time Clinical Quality Analyst to provide guidance and assist in the decision making for statistical and methodological analyses in support of the VCUHS's performance improvement initiatives; performs statistical and other data analyses; creates meaningful data reports; manages external data submissions in accordance with regulations and internal procedures; and provides expertise on data sources, data design and benchmarking.

Manages and coordinates Meaningful Use Clinical Quality Measures (MU CQM) reporting or supports the analyst primarily responsible for MU CQM.
Performs analyses for PI projects, teams and leaders and advises others on data and analyses.
Plans, performs and manages assigned external data submissions as required by Medicare and The Joint Commission.
Serves as VCUHS primary point of contact to assigned agencies and state databases, such as VHI, Anthem Q-HIP, Virginia all-payer database or other projects as assigned. Performs data submissions, data analyses and data validation on assigned databases.
Performs other duties as assigned and/or participates in special projects in order to support the mission of VCUHS and the Department.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related clinical discipline from an accredited program
Coursework in statistics
If candidate holds a professional license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (e.g. Registered Nurse, Pharmacist, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Dietitian, etc.), it must remain current
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a healthcare environment, with specific experience in the following areas:
-clinical experience working in or managing a clinical setting (Nurse, Pharmacist, OT, clinical area manager or similar)
-quantitative experience including organizing and analyzing data and basic application of statistical analyses and statistical process control
-utilizing PC-based applications such as databases, spreadsheets, word processing and presentation graphics and creating formulas and auto calculations in spreadsheets
-querying and report writing in databases
-applying and explaining statistical process control tools
-interpreting and applying local, federal and state laws and regulations and TJC standards and CMS standards/regulations
Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related clinical discipline from an accredited program
Supplemental course work in quality improvement and/or project management
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
Three (3) years of experience applying analytical, statistical and research methodology, preferably in a healthcare setting
Previous work experience in the following areas:
-developing and monitoring clinical practice guidelines;
-applying quality improvement processes and tools
-designing data models and/or conducting data analyses for research studies
-designing databases (data modeling) and designing complex queries
-utilizing Microsoft Access, MIDAS and Cerner
