VCU Health System's Clinical Services is seeking a part-time registered dietitian (20 hrs/week) to work with our Cardiology Transplant team.
This position will be responsible for working with pre & post heart transplant patients along with device patients (VAD, TAH).
Conducting pre-transplant evaluations, assisting with nutrition needs while on transplant list, and post-transplant care.
Work weekends as assigned by supervisor.
Ability to work in a diverse environment.
Adherence to the Code of Ethics for the profession of dietetics and is accountable and responsible for actions and behavior.
Travel to satellite clinics (e.g. Stony Point, Hanover, etc.) when needed, as determined by supervisor.
Bachelors Degree in Nutrition or related field from an accredited college or university
Registered as a Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
May be registry eligible, but must pass the RD exam within in the first 3-6 months of employment in the position
*Advancement from Clinical Nutrition I to a Clinical Nutrition II is mandatory by the end of the first year of employment.
Minimum of one (1) or more years of experience providing nutrition care in an acute care setting
Outpatient positions: Specialty certification in the area of practice; Certificate in Training (Adult Weight Management, Childhood & Adolescent Weight Management); Motivational interview training
Experience with clinical research protocols for applicable positions
If the position is within the outpatient clinical area, experience in counseling in an acture care or outpatient care setting is desired
