VCU Health System is seeking an Operating Room Radiologic Technologist-Supervisor who makes schedules, coordinates work assignments, provides training, serves as a clinical/technical resource, and provides radiographic imaging inside the Operating Room. VCU Health System is the region's only Level 1 Trauma Center and performs over 24,000 surgeries annually; our Radiologic Technologists are able to expand their knowledge by observing and participating in advanced procedures and/or healthcare treatments inside the surgical suites, using state-of-the-art equipment.
Responsible for effectively responding to the Operating Room's needs: keep room turnaround times to a minimum, organize team member workloads and quickly respond to any changes.
Evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions. Motivate employees in order to achieve peak productivity and performance. Ensure that all OR Radiology staff are trained in the OR environment.
Demonstrate an understanding of sterile procedures and sterile environments.
Follow health system and department safety policies and procedures applicable to the job, identify possible issues, and institutes measures (such as adjusting priorities), while adhering to regulatory standards.
Schedules, including shift rotation and hours of work requirements, may be adjusted to meet health system staffing needs. On-call, weekend, and other after-hour coverage may be required, based on the workload demand and staffing needs inside the Operating Room.
Graduation from a JRC Accredited Program in Radiologic Technology
Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Radiation Science or closely related field from an accredited program
Current Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
Minimum of five (5) years of Diagnostic radiology experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) required for continued employment
Master's Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or closely related field from an accredited program
Three (3) years progressively more responsible Diagnostic Radiology supervisory
