VCU Health System's Heart/Lung Transplant Office is seeking a full time VAD Coordinator. Their primary duties will be to manifest a high level of expertise in the assessment, coordination, and care of the complex patients, families, or communities of actual or potential health problems; prevention of illness and injury; maintenance of wellness; and provision of comfort. The VAD Transplant Coordinator demonstrates strong clinical experiences in patient care.
All day-to-day operations of the role are handled independently with minimal assistance.
Advice and guidance are sought from the Manager or Director on an as needed situational basis and when there is a major impact on activity outside the unit.
Actions that are taken without prior approval include daily operational functions and leadership of staff.
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing
Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible
AHA BLS HC P Certification or equivalent
Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in transplant, critical care, or medical-surgical nursing
Two (2) years of progressive leadership experience
Demonstrated clinical expertise for population served with a minimum of one (1) year in specialty area
Master's Degree in Nursing
Certification in Transplantation or Heart Failure or Mechanical Circulatory Support
Five (5) years of clinical experience in the transplant field
Advanced Practice Nursing Role or Clinical Leadership experience
Academic Healthcare experience
