VCU Health System's Amb Supplemental Staffing department is seeking a full time Clinic Coordinator. This position requires the Coordinator to serve as a resource and leader in the clinic for patients, staff, health care providers, management, and other disciplines and perform as a Clinical Nurse III or IV or V. This position will provide leadership in various clinics. The Clinical Coordinator will precept others, provide orientation, devise development plans for new hires and oversee the competency process while under the guidance of the nurse manager.
Ensures assignments are appropriately delegated with consideration of patient's needs, competencies of staff, geographical layout of the unit and workload balance.
Makes sure assignments encompass quality control and environment of care standards.
Ensures patient admissions are managed expeditious.
Monitors patient flow of the clinic for consistency of care and smooth functioning.
Serves as a preceptor/mentor for new staff.
Provides input/complete performance evaluations with Nurse Manager or Director and discipline/corrective action plans to staff.
Identifies potential safety hazards in the clinic and begins resolution and informing Nursing Director and Nurse Manager/Director immediately.
Handling complaints from patients, families and other departments and refers unresolved issues to Nurse Manager or Director as appropriate. Clinic nurse responsibilities include
Demonstrates clinical knowledge at the unit level and begins to apply this knowledge to a specific patient population.
Assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort.
Anticipates changes in patient situations and intervenes appropriately.
Provides direction, education, and serves as a role model in a clinical setting.
Delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care.
Safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.
Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state
Current AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
Minimum of two (2) years of progressive leadership/management experience
Previous work experience supervising, coaching and providing feedback to employees
Clin III: > = 3 years of clinical experience and a minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Clin IV: > = 5 years of clinical experience and a minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree
Clin V: > 5 years of clinical experience
Experience with similar patient population in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice
