Job Details:

VCU Health System's Nursing Administration is seeking a full time Nurse Performance Administrator to provide guidance and assist in the decision making or statistical and methodological analyses in support of the VCUHS's Nursing and Patient Care Services performance improvement initiatives; performs statistical and other data analyses; creates meaningful data reports, dashboards, manages external data submissions in accordance with regulations and internal procedures; and provides expertise on data sources, data design and benchmarking. Provides data and analysis for all regulatory, NDNQI and Magnet submissions. Participates in supporting research and evidence-based practice.



Must be able to think independently and organize, plan and make decisions.

Analysis and critical think with data.

Guidance to staff regarding data, analysis and interpretation.

Effective communication skills; must be an effective communicator including verbal, nonverbal, as well as listening skills.

Complete data analysis methodology accurately. Maintain positive interactions with all customers, colleagues, supervisors and team members.

Actively engage in professional activities.

Maintain knowledge of local, federal and state laws and regulations as well as TJC standards related to position's chief objective. Interpret standards and regulations related to their area of focus.

Demonstrate aptitude for compliance with VCUHS policies, procedures and customer service philosophy.

Collaborate with others to achieve goals.

Advice and guidance are sought on an as needed basis and where there is a major impact on activity outside the team. Activities include project development, handling user complaints, change in team operations or change in training materials content or forms.





Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing; and

Master Degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited program

Current RN licensure in Virginia

Minimum of two (2) years of current performance/quality improvement healthcare related experience

Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing work experience

Experience with designing and delivering presentations and project development/management activities

Experience utilizing PC-based applications such as databases, spreadsheets, word processing, excel and presentation



Certification as Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)

Academic health care experience

Five (5) years nursing experience in hospital/health system setting

Three (3) years experience applying analytical, statistical and research methodology, preferably in a healthcare setting

Previous work experience in the following areas:

Developing and monitoring clinical practice guidelines;

Applying quality improvement processes and tools

Designing data models and/or conducting data analyses for research studies
