VCU Health System's Neurophysiology Labs is seeking END Tech II. The END Tech II performs routine electroneurodiagnostic procedures using established protocols and procedures in a clinical lab, inpatient and epilepsy unit setting including EEG, AEEG, and EMU. Specialty procedures performed are Polysomnogram, Wada Testing, EP, NCV testing, as well as intraoperative monitoring of EEG, EP, EMG and NCV procedures. Serves as the technical resource for the END Tech I.
Performs and records EEG, AEEG, EMU studies, Polysomnography, and EEG IOM with physician support and documents care appropriately. Care is performed in a timely manner.
Performs preliminary scanning of recordings and notifies physician of abnormal results.
Performs other specialized studies and adapts recording techniques as needed to document physiologic or other potentials.
Assists with the teaching of newer staff at the direction of the Chief Technologist.
Provides patient teaching regarding procedures to include family and/or significant other as appropriate.
Assists with the classroom teaching of techs in training at the direction of the Chief Technologist.
Attends available teaching/learning activities such as reading sessions unless excused by Chief Technologist.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Current ABRET, AAET or AANEM registry in one (1) AMA approved electroneurodiagnostic field
Current CPR certification
Minimum of 1 year of basic medical, patient care related experience
Experience and proficiency in two (2) electroneurodiagnostic modalities (e.g. EEG, AEEG, EMU, Polysomnogram,EMG etc.)
Graduate of Electroneurodiagnostic Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program
Two or more years of work experience in electroneurodiagnostic lab setting
