VCU Health System-Children's Hospital of Richmond (CHoR), Brook Road Campus, Fredericksburg Therapy Center is seeking a full time Occupational Therapist to conduct evaluations on referred patients. Plans and implements a comprehensive treatment program that includes discharge planning, patient/family education, and recommendations for follow-up or continued care. Documents results of the OT evaluation and services provided in accordance with hospital and department guidelines. Participate as a member of a self-directed departmental team as well as a member of an interdisciplinary patient care team. Provides clinical instruction to OT and OTA students as needed. Provides training and education to department and hospital staff.
Evaluation and treatment of patients with routine diagnoses. Setting schedule and managing time. Reporting in interdisciplinary rounds. Goal setting for routine diagnoses. Completion of routine documentation. Interaction with the interdisciplinary team and self-directed work team. Customer interaction.
Occupational Therapist provides supervision for Rehab Technicians, COTA staff, volunteers and students doing clinical rotations.
Schedules and work hours will be established with your specific Manager. Schedules will be based on the unit's organizational and staffing needs.
Graduate of an accredited School of Occupational Therapy
Licensed (or licensed eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an Occupational Therapist
Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area
New graduate to up to 2 years of work experience as an Occupational Therapist
Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy
Previous affiliation or work experience at a similar facility working with Pediatric population
