VCU Health System's ORTHO –VCU Sports Medicine is seeking a full time Athletic Trainer Coordinator to oversee day to day program operations to include oversight of outreach Athletic Trainers (ATC), ATC/Physician Extenders. Daily operations may include seeking out, obtaining, and renegotiating current and future outreach contracts. Act as a liaison/decision maker with marketing and legal aspects of the outreach athletic training program. PRN coverage for outreach contracts when needed.
Acts as a liaison between VCU Health Sports Medicine and other hospital staff, physicians, athletes, and community/partners in order to investigate, respond and to resolve complaints. Assist with the development, distribution and communication of information as directed by hospital administration and Director/Associate Director for Sports Medicine.
Provide staff with feedback regarding their performance, counsel's staff as needed, documents counseling sessions, and monitors compliance. Completes staff performance appraisals within established time frame.
Orients new staff to assigned school to familiarize them with the processes, equipment, safety as well as other information needed to fulfill contract/agreement.
Identifies and presents new outreach opportunities to Medical/Associate Medical Directors.
Meets with necessary individuals to develop marketing pieces for new programs/services.
Works proactively and independently showing initiative and problem-solving skills consulting with Medical/Associate Medical Director when appropriate for situations outside authority or expertise.
Maintain and provide referral spreadsheet when requested
Master's Degree in health related field from an accredited program
Virginia Board of Medicine Licensure
National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) Board of Certification
CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification
Minimum of 5 years Collegiate or High School athletic training experience
Minimum 3 years in a clinical setting
1-3 years supervisory experience
