VCU Health System-Children's Hospital of Richmond (CHoR), Brook Road Campus, Stafford Therapy Center is seeking a full time Occupational Therapist to conduct evaluations on referred patients. Plans and implements a comprehensive treatment program that includes discharge planning, patient/family education, and recommendations for follow-up or continued care. Documents results of the OT evaluation and services provided in accordance with hospital and department guidelines. Participate as a member of a self-directed departmental team as well as a member of an interdisciplinary patient care team. Provides clinical instruction to OT and OTA students as needed. Provides training and education to department and hospital staff.


Evaluation and treatment of patients with routine diagnoses. Setting schedule and managing time. Reporting in interdisciplinary rounds. Goal setting for routine diagnoses. Completion of routine documentation. Interaction with the interdisciplinary team and self-directed work team. Customer interaction.
Occupational Therapist provides supervision for Rehab Technicians, COTA staff, volunteers and students doing clinical rotations.
Cross-coverage to other treatment teams as needed.
Progress to Clinician II status within 2 years of employment.
Saturday/holiday coverage on a rotating basis and flexibility in work hours as needed to accommodate departmental needs as applicable.


Graduate of an accredited School of Occupational Therapy

Licensed (or licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an Occupational Therapist

Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area

New graduate to up to 2 years of work experience as an Occupational Therapist*

*Employee is expected to progress to a Occupational Therapist Clinician II level within two years of employment as an Occupational Therapist at VCUHS  


Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy

Saturday/holiday coverage on a rotating basis and flexibility in work hours as needed to accommodate departmental needs as applicable

Previous affiliation or work experience at a similar facility

**Selected candidates will be placed into appropriate levels for this position based on their experience and qualifications**
