VCU Health System's Emergency Management is seeking a full time Emergency Preparedness Coordinator. This person serves as co-chair and clinical leader of the Emergency Preparedness Sub-Committee. Assists in planning, coordinating and maintaining the VCUHS Emergency Management Plan to include both internal and external event responses. Develops and implements training for staff, patients, and visitors to include emergency medicine and inpatient units. Oversees Emergency Preparedness planning for VCUHS clinics.
Day to day functions is handled independently. Actions include collecting data, developing database spreadsheets and databases, reviewing data and evaluating trends, developing documentation systems, and developing education materials.
Advice and guidance are sought on an as needed basis and where there is a major impact on activity outside the team. Activities include project development, handling user complaints, change in team operations or change in training materials content or forms.
Associates/Diploma and 5 years of experience including 2 years in specialty area; or
Bachelors of Science in Nursing and 3 years of experience including 2 year in specialty area; or
Masters of Science in Nursing and 1 year of experience in nursing
Current RN Licensure in Virginia
Current AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent
Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management from an accredited program or presently enrolled in a program
10 years emergency/disaster related experience
