The Clinical Specialist provides education, consultation, and direct expert clinical care to support  consistent, evidence-based, outcome-focused, culturally sensitive, developmentally appropriate care for a specific population of patients across all clinical areas at Mercy Medical Center.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:  Must possess a degree in Nursing; Masters of Science in Nursing or currently matriculated into an accredited MSN program.  Must possess three (3) years current clinical experience in select clinical area.  Must possess current RN Licensure in the State of Maryland.  Must obtain specialty certification within two (2) years of hire.  Must possess strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, expert knowledge of adult learning principles, expert knowledge of human growth and development, expert knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.  Must be able to perform age-specific care for the group(s) relevant to area of specialty served; expert patient assessment; expert clinical problem solving; expert care for complex patients; conflict management; educational assessment; instructional design; and clinical consultation.
