  • The Education Manager is responsible for the instructional design, assessment, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of engaging courses for the classroom and distance learning modules. He/she will work collaboratively with faculty, Program Directors and other content specialists to establish learning needs and outcomes for the Clinical Research Graduate Program and Component activities.

    Under the direct supervision of the CTSI Administrative Director, this position will provide the primary administrative and instructional development support for the Clinical Research Graduate Program and all educational programming offered by the CTSI Components. Duties include, but not limited to, the following:

    -Conduct periodic needs assessment analyses and assessments of program success in order to determine needs for improving student satisfaction and program quality.
    -Plan, recommend, and gain appropriate consensus around new approaches and use of technologies.
    -Develop test plans and budget, with input from others whose input and participation are required.
    -Create a timeline for assessment, design, development, implementation and evaluation phases of training initiatives to ensure compliance with funding agency, institutional, and other programmatic requirements.
    -Manage and oversee each student's participation and compliance within the Program ensuring that all requirements are met on an ongoing basis. 
    -Arrange Advisory Committee monthly meetings, Admission Committee meetings, and other meetings as necessary.
    -In consultation with the CR Program Director and the Associate Director, seek participation from appropriate speakers (locally and nationally) for seminars and guest lecture series. 

    Requirements include:
    Strong interpersonal and management skills to interact with university and hospital leadership, physicians, fellows, and support staff.  Highly professional manner with an ability to maintain sensitivity, confidentiality, and tactfulness. Supervisory experience.  Outstanding attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to anticipate programmatic needs.   Excellent writing skills including the ability to draft and present program materials. Some background in financial management preferred. 
    Must have extensive knowledge and understanding of training and adult learning concepts, theories, and needs analysis. A minimum of seven (7) years' management experience in directly related field in a university graduate program, research division, or academic hospital training program. Masters in Education or equivalent required.
