QUALIFICATIONS: 

·         High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.

·         Previous experience with law enforcement, security operations, public safety, and/or fire departments preferred.

·         Good public relations and communication skills a must.

·         Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

·         Competent to successfully interact with patients according to their special needs which may apply based on the age of the patient served (see Job Description Addendum - Age Specific Competencies).

·         Successful completion of a 90-day training period while serving as a VHS security officer.

·         Successful completion of security certification within one (1) year of employment.

·         Criminal background checks include:

Ø       Virginia State Police
