  • ? Graduate from a program accredited by the American Academy for Nurse Practitioners or the American Nurses Credentialing Center. ? Current licensure as a registered nurse and as a nurse practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia. ? Minimum 5 years RN experience required. Three years experience in the nurse practitioner field is preferred. ? Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult Nurse Practitioner, or a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner preferred. ? The Nurse Practitioner is a recognized member of the facility's medical staff. ? Must secure prescriptive authority in the Commonwealth of Virginia upon hire. ? Must have a general knowledge of the operation and administration of a medical office. ? Should have previous knowledge and experience related to workplace safety, OSHA regulations, and Workers' Compensation laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. ? Must possess highly developed organizational skills and be very reliable, as this position requires daily access to patient information, which is extremely confidential. ? The nurse practitioner should have knowledge of the diseases and illnesses that are considered work-related (such as carpal tunnel syndrome, back injuries, asbestos contact, etc.). The nurse practitioner must have knowledge as to the proper treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses. The nurse practitioner must be willing to follow treatment protocol consistently as defined by the facility. The nurse practitioner must be willing to follow the return-to-work parameters as developed in collaboration with area business and industry. ? The nurse practitioner must be proficient in providing the treatment of the injuries/illnesses identified by CPT code on the charge sheet. The nurse practitioner must be willing to assist the OH physician as a gatekeeper for all work related injuries treated in the clinic or other healthcare services provided through OH Mobile Services. ? Must be willing to receive additional training, as needed, and remain current on the skills necessary for the performance of required duties. ? 60 Day notice of resignation is required.
