QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must satisfy the requirements for and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must satisfy the requirements for a DOT equivalent physical examination to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner's Certificate, as well as submit to periodic 9 panel drug screenings, as defined by applicable federal, state, and VH policies & regulations.
• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Current state ALS certification required. (Current state EMS Certification required: EMT-I or EMT-P or equivalent.)
• Must be able to accurately perform pharmacological calculations.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) course or equivalent completion required.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or PEPP (Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals) course completion or equivalent preferred within six months of date of hire.
• Must have BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• Must have and maintain a driving record that is acceptable to the company's insurance carrier.
• EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Certificate) or recognized equivalent in states requiring certification, required within one year of hire.
• Criminal background checks include:
• VA State Police
• 3^rd party Background check

      ·   Prefer Dual State ALS Attendant which would require current ALS certification in two states that have a common border to the employee's assigned VMT station's service area.
