The Transportation Aide is responsible for the safe and timely transport of inpatients, outpatients, lab specimens, morgue patients and at times hospital equipment within designated areas of the hospital.
Provides for patient safety during transfer process.
Has constant awareness of any attachments accompanying patient to the department.
Reviews patient chart or history and correlates with physician orders. Consultation is obtained as necessary. Knowledgeable of first aid technique in relation to seizures, CPR, allergic reactions, etc.
Knowledgeable in computer operations and accurate record keeping. Ensures that patient information charges are accurate.
High school graduation or equivalency preferred.
Must be able to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English.
Basic Life Support CPR Certification required.
Previous hospital experience preferred.
Possess outstanding customer relations and good communication skills.
