Allegan Professional Health Services seeks a full time Triage RN to work in Allegan Medical Clinic.          

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, but may not be limited to:

-Screens and responds to patient phone calls, directing to Primary Care Provider as needed.

-Furnishes medical advice per approved triage reference books.

-Schedules appointments, based on necessity, by offering the earliest appropriate appointment available with each provider.

-Schedules urgent visits as appropriate. 

-Enters necessary information into the computer.

-Accurately documents the encounter with the patient in the electronic medical record/ patient chart for continuity of care.

-Initiates appropriate follow up.

-Triage patients at Walk in Clinic and if necessary at the Registration Window.

-A member of the Code Team (Rapid Response Team).

-Monitors faxed records.

-Correctly assesses stat triage patient's vital signs and charts them accurately.

-Assists in the development and maintenance of practice policies.

-Assist with management of warfarin patients/Anticoagulant Management Program/Ancillary Services

-Maintains confidentiality of all patient information.

-Adheres to policies/safety practices of the practice.

-Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE, but may not be limited to:

-Possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Michigan

-Prefer two years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.

-Current BLS

-Thorough knowledge of practical nursing theory.

-Knowledge of standard practices, rules, and regulations related to nursing.

-Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, aseptic technique.

-Ability to keep accurate records; using an electronic medical record.

-Competent organizational skills.

-Ability to handle stressful situations.

-Ability to meet deadlines.

-Excellent oral/written communication skills

-Excellent interpersonal skills.

-Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team, patients, and community representatives.

-Must be able to set priorities and anticipate primary care providers needs
