EMT/Paramedic Instructor
Department: Ed Center - School of Paramedic
Schedule: Help Out Hours - As Needed
Shift: Various shifts - Day/Evening/Weekends
Job Details:

Education: Minimum of High School degree or equivalent. Must possess a current National Registry certification at a minimum level of Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic. Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience providing emergency care and instruction of Emergency Medical Services programs. Computer and clerical experience preferred. Other Licenses/Certifications Required: American Heart Association Dakota Affiliate Basic Life Support/Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation instructor status. Must obtain North Dakota Emergency Medical Services Instructor and Prehospital Trauma Life Support status within one year from date of employment. A valid North Dakota Class "D" driver's license. Physical Effort: Very heavy, such as equipment and supplies: involves a maximum physical effort requirement of greater than 100 pounds. Must be able to demonstrate and perform practical skills required by the Department of Transportation curriculum(s). Examples are (but not limited to): Perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, reach shelving up to 6 feet high, bend/stoop to access resources, stand/sit for over 1 hour at a time, move quickly to various departments of the medical center. Travel required. Interpersonal Skills: Relates well with staff, patients, and general public. Maintains confidentiality. Exhibits good written and oral communication skills. Hours of Work: Variable work hours - days, evenings, and occasional weekends. Other: Works under the following conditions: Potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical, and infectious hazards.
