PFS - Patient Access Mgnt
|Schedule:||Part Time or Full Time Hours|
Works under the supervision of the Patient Access Management supervisor. This individual acts as a resource person for the Patient Access Management Department in the absence of the Supervisor and assists in overseeing the general activities in all areas of the Department.
Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Prefer entry level college courses or associate degree.
Experience: Typing skills required at 30 words per minute. This position requires 5 years of related customer service or healthcare registration background with broad and thorough understanding of third party payer issues.
Skills: Computer literate and has word processing, spreadsheet applications and internet knowledge is preferred. Organization, multi-tasking, and problem solving skills. Functional knowledge of medical terminology and insurance coverage. Demonstrated ability to collect and interpret information. Ability to operate phone system.
Physical Effort: Light to medium physical work level of up to 25 pounds and has ability to move patients using wheelchair. Intermittent sitting and standing is required.
Hours of Work: Variable shifts. Department is staffed seven days a week with weekend and holiday rotation.
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Other: Works under the following conditions: Potential exposure to mechanical,electrical and infectious environmental hazards. Able to perform effectively in emergency and stressful situations.
