Epic Analyst – Associate Position Overview


The Epic Analyst - Associate designs, analyzes, develops, tests, implements and/or provides tier two technical assistance of assigned system applications. This position demonstrates the ability to work with user departments to resolve problems, and develops and modifies procedures to solve data processing problems and/or prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written.

 

This position supports the Orders team.      

 

As the Epic Analyst - Associate at Asante you will have the opportunity to:

·       Work with Epic representatives, application coordinators, supervisors and end users to ensure applications meet organizational and client needs.

·       Gather background information for the analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with the end user work flow and relate these findings to appropriate parties.

·       Work with end users to respond to technical questions and issues related to work flow.

·       Provide clarification on functionality in new releases to determine how it should be used.

·       Demonstrate understanding of integrated testing, troubleshooting and issue resolution and with development of comprehensive testing plans.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education 

·       Associate's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent in education and/or experience required.

Experience 

·       1 year of healthcare related experience in the area(s) of direct patient care, medical records, patient registration, scheduling, claims and/or information technology within a hospital or clinic or the equivalent in education and experience required. Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) also required.

Licensure

·       Will be required to acquire Epic Proficiency within three months of hire.  Will be required to complete annual EPIC proficiency requirements.

Required Skills

·       Must have the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in a variety of decision making scenarios.

·       Ability to work independently with little day to day supervision.

·       Must have a positive attitude and good interpersonal skills.

·       Must be comfortable presenting in front of a group.

·       Must have good attention to detail and ability to probe for information to fully understand the needs of the customer.

·       Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot issues with a 'can do' attitude.

·       Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.

·       Must also be able to work within a team.

·       Ability to manage conflict.

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills.
