Patient Service Rep (PSR) Opportunity Overview

 

The Patient Service Rep (PSR) for Rehab Services is responsible for completing an efficient and orderly registration and admission process in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. In this role, the PSR performs complex scheduling for multiple disciplines within the Rehab department (PT, OT, Speech Language Pathology) and insurance verification of all Rehabilitation outpatients. The position is based in the Asante Work Health and Rehab Services building on Black Oak Drive in Medford, Oregon.

As a Patient Service Rep (PSR) at Asante you will have the opportunity to:

 

·         Work closely with therapy professionals as well as answering telephones and greeting patients

·         Ensure accurate information is collected and patients are aware of their rights

·         Negotiate patient payment amounts as appropriate

·         Train new employees in the complex, technical aspects of the job and mentor employees

·         Identify areas for process improvement and develop recommendations for solutions

·         Work customer service issues to resolution

·         Conduct quantitative / qualitative analysis for the department as identified

·         Provide department's onsite computer troubleshooting to resolution

·         Understand and solve complex problems dealing with governmental entitlement programs, commercial insurance requirements, contractual obligations, and reporting requirements

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education

 

·         Associates degree or equivalent years of experience utilizing applicable skills required 

 

Experience

 

·         2 plus years medical office or related experience required 

·         Knowledge of CPT / standard diagnostic codes and insurance / payor requirements required  

·         Preferred: Experience in a rehabilitation setting; 1 year experience in a hospital registration department; and/or 1 year experience in a hospital-based setting 

·         Preferred: Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Epic Software

·         Preferred: Bilingual in English/Spanish 

 

Certifications 

 

·         Preferred: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) certified by the American Heart Association (AHA)

 

Additional Requirements

 

·         Understand trends in insurance billing and other third party reimbursement issues

·         Willingness to flex work schedule as needed

·         Assist ill and/or elderly patients

·         PC, MS Windows experience required
