In this role you will take responsibility for system-wide risk assessment, development, coordination, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of an employee safety program for Asante.  Collaborates with leadership, managers, and staff to meet goals of employee safety program, working closely with Workers Compensation and Employee Health.  Ensures compliance with government regulations (OSHA, etc.).  Reports to Chief Quality Officer.
 
Education: Bachelor's degree in safety, ergonomics, industrial engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of related education and experience.  Master's degree preferred.

License / Certification: Certification through the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics (BCPE) or Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) issued by CHCM-CHSP Board of Certification preferred.

Experience: Must have a minimum of five years experience in managing employee safety programs.  Experience in ergonomics in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred. Must have understanding of OSHA regulations.   Ability to review, analyze, interpret and make recommendations based on data.  Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders in a collaborative, team-based setting.   Skilled in recognizing noncompliance and procedural irregularities in a work setting. Must have strong computer proficiency in word processing, presentation software and spreadsheets.
