The LIS Application Analyst assists in the analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and/or ongoing support of assigned system applications. May include simple to moderate complexity business, clinical and/or functional aspects of the application. Interfaces with user departments to anticipate and resolve problems. May also develop and modify procedures to solve complex data processing problems and/or prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Directs implementation and manages the Laboratory Information System and subsystems to provide fully interfaced orders, results and management reports. Ensures regulatory compliance through up to date procedures and annual reviews. Acts as a resource for all lab staff. This position will work out of the office at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center.
Education: Requires a Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in education and experience including previous education and experience in system analysis. Preferred qualifications: Advanced degree in computer science.
License / Certification: Requires MT, Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certified by the ASCP Board of Certification or equivalent (MT by AMT, HEW/HHS, CLS by CDPH, Medical Lab Specialist by US Military) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certified by the ASCP Board of Certification or equivalent (CLT by CDPH). Preferred Qualification: Certificate in Healthcare Informatics through the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) or an accredited college.
Experience: Requires minimum of 3 years direct experience with maintenance and/or support of laboratory information system or closely related system(s) or the equivalent in experience. Up to 2 years of general laboratory experience may be substituted for direct LIS support/maintenance experience. Clinical laboratory experience or certification required (Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, etc) or the equivalent in education and experience.
Preferred qualifications: Experience with hospital information systems (e.g. Epic, MEDITECH), HL7, Sunquest LIS, Crystal Reports, “support desk” experience.
