**This is for a Summer internship
JOB SUMMARY: The primary function of this position is to update and cleanse the CMMS data base to ECRI nomenclature standards. Also the Avera Biomedical Engineering Intern will work under close supervision; repairing, calibrating, and maintaining all types of basic biomedical equipment, technologies, devices, instruments, and systems. Inspect, install, and provide preventive maintenance of general biomedical equipment. Maintain documentation of all service events, tests, and maintenance performed on biomedical equipment. Intern will gain first hand experience on the critical role that Biomedical Engineering plays in the healthcare environment.
REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· Interns must be enrolled in or a recent graduate of an accredited college, university or technical institute with a GPA of at least 3.0 preferred.
· Interns should have a strong interest in expanding their knowledge base within Biomedical Engineering in a healthcare setting.
· Coursework in biomedical engineering or related field preferred. Campus and community involvement is encouraged. Candidates with faculty recommendations are preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
· This position requires a valid driver's license and that the employee is insurable by the Avera Health automobile liability insurance carrier.
