SUMMARY: The Coder Analyst is responsible for timely and accurate abstracting, ICD-9-CM coding, CPT coding, reimbursement systems (i.e. APCs, IOG’s, ASC’s etc.), NCD/LCD and completion of abstraction and reporting of statistical information.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor Degree in Health Information Administration; or Associate Degree in Health Information Technology; or Certified Coding accreditation from AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) required.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
· Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required. If not certified or registered, must obtain certification or registration within one year of employment.
