Provides appropriate and evidence based medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling for clients, dietary consulting for contracted facilities and nutrition information for community outreach. Provides contracted consultant dietitian services to other hospitals, long term care, and other care facilities. When providing consultant dietetic services to contracted facilities, evaluates and monitors all aspects of food service operation to meet federal and state regulations and guidelines and make recommendations for conformance level. Plans, organizes, and conducts orientation and in-service educational programs for food service personnel and all staff in-services. Develops and evaluates menus patterns for nutritional adequacy. Assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates nutritional-care plans and provides for follow-up, including written reports. Consults with health care team concerning nutritional care of patients, residents and/or clients. Provides outpatient nutrition education and counseling and communicates with health care providers concerning the nutritional care of the clients.
