Education: Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). Theological background with willingness/desire to participate in Clinical Pastoral Education training and/or seek certification from National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or other accredited certifying body.
Experience: Previous experience in ministry or other education/training/experience in interpersonal relationships. One year of pastoral experience in a healthcare environment preferred. Understanding of or experience in health care is helpful.
The Chaplain is a member of the healthcare team providing emotional, spiritual and prayerful support to patients/residents, families and staff. Assists persons to understand how life's events relate to spiritual and emotional well-being.
Share call rotation during the week and every 3rd weekend and 3rd holiday. Position is part-time - non-insurance eligible but will earn PTO/ESL. This position will be trained to cover HOSPICE patients and in-patients on an as needed basis.
