The Assistant Director of Nursing plans, organizes, directs and supervises resident care services provided by staff. The ADON collaborates with and reports to the Director of Nursing and VP of Resident Care Services. He/she provides each resident with professional nursing care, assessments and evaluations. Is a member of a self-directed, cross-trained work team. The team’s purpose is to plan and coordinate resident care creating a home and strengthening community while incorporating resident preference into their daily lives. Serves as consultant RN for Adult Day Care program. Must have a current RN license to practice in the state of MN and current CPR certification. The RN must demonstrate leadership abilities to develop and motivate staff, possess good critical thinking and problem solving skills; must prioritize responsibilities; be flexible and able to work under stressful situations; possess good verbal and written communication skills, be self-directed and work autonomously; and have the necessary management skills to plan for and oversee the utilization of resources and the design of work processes. Previous LTC, MDS care planning, and leadership experience are preferred. Current Minnesota RN license is required. This position will work 0.8 FTE in Long Term Care, 0.1 FTE in the Transitions unit on a Temporary basis and a 0.1 FTE as a consultant in ADCS.
