JOB SUMMARY:

The Clinic Nursing Manager is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of Nursing Services within the assigned Clinics.  Responsible for coordinating a level of communication between nursing staff, physicians, and all other clinic departments to create a positive outcome for clinic employees and patients.  Serves as a member of the Clinic Leadership Team. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Directly supervises employees in the Assigned Departments.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: management of the department’s operating budget, compliance, quality assurance, provider and staff relations, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS:  Maintains confidentiality when dealing with all customers.  Must utilize effective problem solving skills as appropriate.  Conveys enthusiasm and sincerity and promotes Avera St. Luke’s and its services in a positive manner to all customers.  Supports Avera Health/Avera St. Luke’s through the daily application of our mission, vision, core values, and social principles while providing quality care and service to our patients, their families, co-workers, physicians, volunteers, and the communities we serve.  Must be flexible to change and have the ability to work effectively in a team environment.  Performs duties in a manner consistent with Safety Principles.  Employee is required to comply with all applicable laws, regulations and standards associated with but not limited to: CMS, JCAHO and OSHA. Coordinates work flow with other team members to ensure a productive and efficient environment.  May be involved on organization committees.

 

EDUCATION:

Must be a graduate from a CCNE/NLNAC accredited school of Nursing.  Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university school of nursing required.

 

LICENSES/CERTIFICATES:

Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and, or, willingness to obtain a valid North Dakota Registered Nurse license from the North Dakota Board of Nursing.  CPR certification is required.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Must have four years’ of nursing experience.  Two years’ in a supervisory role preferred.
