The Performance Improvement Specialist will be responsible for coordination of the hosptial wide Performance Improvement Program for the Medical Staff. Coordinates organization-wide efforts to ensure that performance improvement and quality assurance programs are developed and managed using a data-driven focus that sets priorities for improvements aligned to ongoing strategic imperatives. Researches and assists to implement a performance management and improvement process that leads to a positive and measurable impact on patient outcomes. Uses PI tools to assist in data analysis, understanding and display of information. Evaluates results and provides input to hospital or medical staff committee/sections as requested.
Excellent organizational skills, knowledge of clinical nursing practice, ability to problem solve, ability to supervise work of others, ability to attain and sustain good interpersonal relationships with the members of the Medical Staff, other Avera St. Luke's employees, customers and community. Computer skills are a must, along with knowledge regarding Word, Excel and Power Point. Must maintain confidentiality when dealing with all customers. Must support Avera Health and Avera St. Luke's through the daily application of our mission, values and social prinicples while providing quality service to all customers including patients, families, co-workers, physicians and volunteers. Must be flexible to change and have the ability to work in a team environment.
Bachelor's Degree in healthcare related field; or five years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
