SUMMARY: The phlebotomist organizes specimen collection requests, performs patient clinical laboratory specimen collection procedures, specimen transport and point-of-care testing procedures following established standards and practices.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
· Rapid Response Laboratory positions require a minimum of six months’ phlebotomy experience or graduation from an approved phlebotomy-training program.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
· This position requires a valid driver’s license and that the employee is insurable by the Avera Health automobile liability insurance carrier.
