Registration Clerks are responsible for interviewing patients when they are scheduled to come into the hospital either for an elective or urgent inpatient or outpatient procedure. The Registration Clerk is responsible for gathering demographic information (i.e. name, address, phone number, social security number, type of insurance coverage, etc.) about the patient. This key position as a Registration Clerk begins the billing process for any services provided by the hospital. This position is responsible for obtaining insurance verifications, authorizations and addressing prior balances.
High School diploma required. Computer proficiency, excellent customer relations skills, confidentiality, medical terminology and prior medical insurance experience is preferred.
