The Registered Cardiovascular Technologist is a qualified individual who is responsible for performing duplex imaging and non-imaging vascular studies, echocardiography, stress echo, and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). All activities will be performed as prescribed by the ordering physician under the direction of the Medical Directors of the Vascular and Cardiology Divisions of the Noninvasive Cardiovascular Laboratory. The position requires the incumbent to be on call with an expected response time of sixty minutes. Requirements Include: Graduate of one year or two-year cardiovascular technician program, RCVT (Registered Cardiovascular Technologist) or RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) or RDCS. Experience in the Cardiac and/or Vascular imaging required. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and homodynamics required, with additional knowledge of disease processes and surgical interventions of the vascular system preferred. Clinical evaluation skills required. Position requires comprehensive knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and patho-physiology, evidence of competency in echocardiography and vascular testing. Requires ability to work with close supervision and to follow verbal and written instruction of physicians. Additionally, requires ability to recognize anatomical landmarks of the cardiovascular system, normal and abnormal ECG rhythms, and strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills. Also need to have the ability to handle stressful situations and good time management skills required. Participation in activities which further professional growth for self and department is preferred. RCVT, RVT or RDCS required.
