Performs secretarial functions such as typing, answering telephones, screening and directing all calls for the DTC.
Receives requests from PACE and community PCPs for specialist appointments.
Schedules all members’ appointments for PCPs, DTC and consultant services including psychiatric, podiatry, lab/home draws, and acupuncture. Enters appointment dates into Plexis. Notifies Manager of any obstacles getting appointments scheduled.
Advises all patients of their scheduled appointments in writing and via telephone. Calls to confirm the day before the appointment as appropriate. Informs Nurse Manager of all cancelled appointments and rescheduled dates.
Assists with routing patients in/out of medical practice in cooperation with assigned program assistant.
Collaborates with the transportation department to assure that members are transported in a timely manner.
Communicates transportation issues and incidents related to DTC and outside medical appointments. Provides follow-up with transportation dept in handling of these issues.
Communicates with the Medical Management Department to obtain appointment/procedure preauthorization as well as provides information and follow up as indicated.
Prepares the packet of forms necessary for PACE MD initial visits, revisits and ER evaluations.
Processes all DTC paper work and distributes information as needed.
Collects or prints all physicians’ notes, either written or dictated and processes them in Plexis for return DTC visits. Files physicians’ notes in the medical record.
Provides back up Business support (transportation, reception etc.) as needed at the site.
Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma; some college preferred.
2-3 years secretarial or business experience in health care preferred.
