JOB SUMMARY: Working in accordance with established policies and procedures and/or specific instructions. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the day to day clerical demands of the administrative office and reception desk. Responsible for updates of policies and procedures as directed by Department Directors. Also responsible for larger projects assigned by the Administrator and/or Sales Director. Responsible for filling in at the front desk when the Office Assistant is not available. Required to help other departments with various tasks as assigned. Performs other related duties as required.
Education: Associate Degree in Administration, Technology or Business preferred; appropriate work experience can be accepted in lieu of degree
Experience: Must have at least two years of office/secretarial experience and some supervisory experience.
Other: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Must have strong customer service skills. Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English. Must be able to type at least 50 words per minute, and be familiar with various types of letter styles. Must be able to use copying machine. Basic accounting and switchboard skills are preferred. Must be able to handle job in a professional and courteous manner at all times to residents and staff. Must be able to move swiftly from one job to another. Must function efficiently despite distractions and interruptions and be able to remain calm in an emergency. Must have personal computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time. Requires full range of body motion including occasional bending, twisting, squatting, and kneeling; lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; corrected vision and hearing to normal range; finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
