JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the radiology office supervisor, performs a variety of secretarial and clerical duties in the radiology department. Performs other related duties as required.
Education: High School Graduate
Experience: Medical Terminology; experience in hospital or related setting
Other: Ability to type accurately using a computer; ability to enter computer data and operate a variety of software applications; ability to follow oral and written communication. Must be congenial and courteous during all interactions with others.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to concentrate on detailed work for prolonged periods of time; able to adjust routine to accommodate patient or department without affecting departmental flow. Requires working under stressful conditions and possibly working irregular hours. Must be able to lift light objects frequently; perform moderately difficult manipulative skills and hind-eye coordination skills; sit for prolonged periods; see objects closely; and hear sounds with some background noises. Position requires ability to concentrate on moderate detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for less than 10 minutes at a time. Individual must be able to understand and relate to specific ideas generally, several at a time, and be able to communicate verbally, using standard high-school-level vocabulary. Position may experience frequent exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a hospital environment.
