Department: Grace - Behavorial Health/Detox Unit
Schedule: Full Time
Shift: 1st Shift
Hours: 8a-4p M-F
Job Details:
  • Associate Degree Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS through American Heart Association
  • RN license required
  • 3 or more years of experience
  • JOB SUMMARY: Coordinates the diverse aspects of patient care to achieve the highest quality and most cost effective outcomes.  Demonstrates knowledge and skills of disease process necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of the patients/clients served, and provides care according to departmental policies and procedures.  Performs initial and concurrent utilization review with third party payors.  Facilitates multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.  Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians/office staff, third party payors and regulatory agency personnel.  Places patients at appropriate level of care related to intensity of service (IS) and severity of illness (SI).   Maintains a working environment conducive to professional responsibility and accountability.  Promotes effective utilization of health care resources.  Assumes a leadership role with the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.  Evaluates data relating to patient care, documentation, and intervenes as appropriate.  Performs other related duties as deemed competent.   


    Education:       Preferred Bachelors degree in behavioral health, nursing,  or related field from an accredited university. 

    Experience:    Minimum 3 years in acute care; case management/behavioral health experience

    License/Registration: Current North Carolina licensure in Clinical Social Work or Registered Nurse preferred.

    Other:                         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills relating to internal/external customers to obtain and interpret age-appropriate information required to assess the scope of treatment and patient care.  Is well versed in behavioral health medical necessity criteria, Medicare, Medicaid, and third party payer reimbursement regulations. 

    TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires full range of body motion, handling/lifting patients, manual/finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination; corrected vision/hearing to normal range; standing/walking for extensive periods with bending, stooping/stretching.  Requires sitting for up to 8 hours per day.
