JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for reception duties, checking in patients, obtaining accurate insurance information and verifying accuracy of information, accurate patient registration. Responsible for patient scheduling for radiation therapy, medical oncology, and infusion therapy. Maintains patient charts, performing filing in a timely manner, maintaining chart room. Obtains accurate information for referred patients. Obtains required patient information prior to the patient’s visit. Answers phones promptly, returns phone calls in a timely manner, takes accurate messages and delivers in a timely manner. Maintains strict confidentiality. Ability to work flexible hours. Performs other related duties as required.
Education: High School Graduate
Experience: Minimum of one year of medical office experience.
Other: Computer skills, medical terminology and word processing skills; ability to type from dictation; good communication skills; ability to interact positively with others; problem solving skills
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires functional range of body motion. Frequent manual/finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires corrected vision/hearing to normal range. Constant sitting (may alternate to standing as needed). Frequent bending, standing, stooping/stretching. Occasionally lift/carry items weighting up to 5 lbs.
