A Staff Nurse, under general direction, provides and manages professional nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with the Michigan Nurse Practice Act and established hospital and nursing policies and procedures and professional nursing standards. Incumbents exercise professional judgement in utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. A Staff Nurse performs other related duties as assigned. Must possess an Associate Degree, or equivalent, in Nursing from an accredited college or university and have one month of clinical experience in nursing. Must be currently licensed as Registered Nurse in Michigan. Must attain and maintain CPR & CPI certification.
To intentionally increase the academic preparation of the Bronson Battle Creek nursing community, effective July 1, 2010 new associates hired to positions requiring a Registered Nurse license will require a Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN) or enrollment in a BSN (RN to BSN) program within 12 months of hire. New associate degreed RN graduates with less than two years of experience will be given a 24-month time frame from date of hire for enrollment in a RN to BSN program.
